–Tuesday evening the TV program ‘Scammers tackled’ was shown again on Dutch TV. This time it was about the disabled Dutch Petra, who was scammed for almost 100,000 euros by her Surinamese friend Freddy.
Petra was paralyzed on one side due to a medical error. She received substantial compensation for this. Then she got to know Freddy through the internet. When they first meet in the Netherlands, Freddy comes across as a very sweet man.
Nothing turns out to be less true. He took her in and ‘borrowed’ a large amount of money, after which he went to Suriname for five days. But Freddy never returned.
After Petra was scammed for almost 100,000 euros, she called in Kees van der Spek of the RTL 5 program. He and his team went to Suriname and discovered that he is hiding an hour’s drive outside Paramaribo. They went for it.
