As of October, the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, which connects Norwegian deposits with the Polish transmission system, will be launched partially. Its target capacity will be approximately 10 billion cubic meters. annually. The maximum use of the connection will be possible from January next year.

Gaz-System is also expanding the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. – The first phase of expansion is behind us. We can accept more ships from January. Last year, we accepted 35 gas carriers, this year there will be 54 of them, maybe more. The expansion of the third reservoir and the second quay is underway. After the completion of the investment, which is planned for the end of next year, we will increase the possibility of accepting ships to 75 – informed the president.

The company is also working on another project – the construction of an LNG floating terminal in Gdańsk. Originally, the investment was supposed to be ready by the end of 2027, but it is planned to be accelerated by two years due to the complex situation in Europe caused by the crisis in the East. – The terminal and accompanying infrastructure will cost several hundred million zlotys or 1 billion zlotys, depending on when we will contract the works, said Stępień.

Ultimately, both terminals, in Świnoujście and Gdańsk, will be able to accept 130 ships annually, which translates into a volume of 13 billion cubic meters. gas.

In addition, Gaz-System is expanding the transmission system, including connections between Poland and neighboring countries. Between 2016 and 2023, Gaz-System’s investment expenditure will amount to PLN 20-21 billion. Thanks to the implemented projects, Poland has the opportunity to diversify its gas supplies.
