Bok Brönte wrote as a 13-year-old rediscovered
A handwritten collection of poems written by a 13-year-old Charlotte Brontë will return to the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth, UK.
The book was sold by an anonymous seller to the Friends of the National Libraries organization, which raised $ 1.25 million from members to fund the purchase.
The book is the size of a playing card, and contains ten unpublished poems. It bears a misspelled title, “A Book of Ryhmes by Charlotte Brontë”, and counts 15 pages. It has been considered lost since 1916.
Charlotte Brontë’s most famous work is “Jane Eyre”, but she published several novels during her lifetime (1816-1855).
