Suspended, the work to replace the Chartres and Gallardon bridges was relaunched after a readjustment of the project schedule.
–
Work to replace the Chartres and Gallardon bridges was interrupted in July 2021 due to land subsidence. Ground reinforcement work had to be carried out urgently. From then on, the autonomous Parisian transport authority (RATP) set up a new schedule, and the site was thus able to resume. Preparatory facilities were launched in February 2022 with the aim of carrying out the foundation work during the summer of 2022. The operation will continue with the assembly of the crane in the spring of 2023. This equipment will be used to install the new bridge structures by summer 2023.
The entire project should be completed by mid-2024, i.e. one year behind the initial schedule. It should be remembered that, for the RATP, this operation will contribute to improving the rail system and the quality of passenger transport. The new engineering structures will also make it possible to accommodate faster and more efficient trains capable of transporting a greater number of people.
