Blood donation: “Journey for life” in Auch

The Midi-Pyrénées Regional Committee is this year the organizer of the 43rd National Congress of the French Federation of Voluntary Blood Donation in Albi, from May 25 to 28, 2022.

This congress is a highlight for volunteers from associations working for voluntary blood donation.

The volunteers of the associations in partnership with the French Blood Establishment (EFS), have as their main concern “the conquest of new donors”.
A series of events, called “Parcours pour la vie”, is organized prior to the congress in order to promote voluntary blood donation among all citizens.

Two demonstrations have already taken place in Mauvezin and Condom.

The third will close this course in the Gers,

Saturday April 30 in Auch, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in front of Sainte-Marie Cathedral.

The Auscitaine Association and the surrounding Blood Donation Associations organized the afternoon:

Citroën 2CV vehicles will arrive around the water jets on Place de la Liberation then head towards the Parvis de la Cathédrale where

– an information stand (documentation on blood donation, drawing of a drop of blood in mandala style to color for children and adults),

– an animation of the bandas “Les Grélés Gascons”,

– sports activities for all, presented by the CDOS,

– a stand held by the GEAG to launch a challenge to Gers associations from April 30 to June 18.

Two volunteers from the Amicale will bring their knowledge of the heritage of the Haute Ville Auscitaine with a trip to the Escalier Monumental.

George Deluc, President of the Association and Marie-Chantal Roumat, President of the Departmental Union of Associations for Voluntary Blood Donation of the Gers will be happy to welcome volunteers, blood donors, their children and their friends around this pleasant moment of sharing and conviviality.

As a reminder: the second blood drive of the year at the Salle des Cordeliers in Auch will take place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
