Fans received Will Smith in India, where he is visiting, in what is his first public appearance since the Oscar controversy.
“Will landed at a private airport in Mumbai, India, and it was clear that the paparazzi in India knew he was coming,” a source told TMZ.
“They called out his name when he arrived at his hotel, and he was more than happy to meet the paparazzi, along with some fans, he gave them a wave and a smile,” he added.
The reason for the actor’s visit to that country is not yet known, whether it is for business or pleasure, the truth is that he has been seen as very accessible.
“He has posed with the pilot, hotel staff and some fans who desperately wanted a selfie with the actor,” they announced on the portal.
Will has not said anything publicly since his apology after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, an action that earned him a 10-year ban from Academy events, including the Oscars.
Several of his film projects have been frozen in the wake of the slap. It’s unclear if they’ll be canceled entirely or if the film companies are just waiting for all the fuss to die down before things restart.
