ZINEDINE ZIDANE is reportedly Paris Saint-Germain’s first choice to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Shocking reports emerged yesterday that the Argentine is to be “imminently” sacked as PSG boss and that Tottenham’s Antonio Conte wants the job.

They came just a day after Poch’s side regained the Ligue 1 title from Lille with a 1-1 draw with Lens.

But PSG supporters rebelled against the coach and the players after Real Madrid knocked them out of the Champions League.

And Poch was even booed by his own fans at the Parc des Princes the night they were crowned champions.

Conte is believed to have made it known to the club hierarchy that he is interested in taking over a two-year deal.

However, The Times claims that although they will listen to what the Italian has to say, it is Zidane who remains his number one target.

The French legend has been out of work since leaving his second spell at Real Madrid last summer.

The 49-year-old led the Spanish giants to three Champions League successes and two titles during his time at the helm.

And now PSG hope to convince him to join them instead of waiting for the role of the French team.

This latest report also suggested that Spurs could bring Pochettino back, even though they fired him in November 2019.

After sealing the league at the weekend, Poch said: “People shouldn’t underestimate winning the Ligue 1 title.

“There is a disappointment when there is no European Cup at the end of a season, but there has not been in 50 years of [this club’s] existence.”
