The great artist Kalina Taseva has died. Her daughter announced the loss on Facebook.
“My mother left today, on Easter. I don’t know a more dignified life. She painted such beautiful pictures and behaved so masculine to the end …! I love her endlessly and I am proud that she is my mother! May her soul find peace!” , Desislava Mincheva wrote, BNT reports.
Kalina Taseva was born in 1927 in Sofia. Her father Petar Tasev is a journalist from Bitola, and her mother Slavka Harizanova (1907 – 1962) is the daughter of Lyubomir Harizanov from the Vlach family Harizanovi.
In 1952 she graduated in painting from the National Academy of Arts, where her teachers were Prof. Dechko Uzunov and Prof. Iliya Petrov. He has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists since 1953, as well as a corresponding member of the Union of Austrian Artists “Kunstler House”.
She has made about 20 solo and group exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. Her paintings are in the possession of the National Art Gallery, the Sofia City Art Gallery, many of the country’s art galleries and private collections.
