According to sociologists from Ipsos Sopra-Steria, in the second round of the French presidential election, which took place on Sunday, April 24, 2022, Macron won 58.2% of the vote.

This message was published by the French public broadcaster FranceInfo.

Marine Le Pen improved her 2017 result by 8% but still fell behind with 41.8% of the vote.

The results of exit polls began to be announced at 20:00 in Paris (at 21:00 in Kyiv).

At the same time, as of 17:00, the turnout in this second round was 63.23%, which is almost 2% less than in the first round (65%).

Thus, at just 44 years old, Macron becomes the youngest president to be re-elected since the introduction of universal direct suffrage in 1962. In 2017, Macron won by a 66% to 34% margin.

Le Pen said she admits her defeat in the French presidential election “despite two weeks of unfair and violent methods.” She called her result a success and noted that she would continue to fulfill her obligations to the French.

In the first round, held on April 10, 23.15% of voters voted for the leader of the far-right National Association Marine Le Pen, and 27.85% for Macron.
