5 – Avengers

The film that opens this top 5 is the first Avengers, the one that concludes Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It ranks fifth with its $220 million production cost. A rather low figure compared to the 1.518 billion dollars that the feature film earned at the global box office.

4 – Captain America : Civil War

The third film in the series Captain America is placed in the fourth position of this top with its 250 million dollar budget. In 2016, Marvel bet everything on this film where the two superheroes Captain America and Iron Man clash in an intense conflict. Despite this huge cost, it earned $1.153 billion at the worldwide box office.

3 – Avengers : Age of Ultron

This film could be placed in fourth place, on the same level as Captain America, or in third place. There is no precise or official figure, but many estimates. The second Avengers would have cost between 250 and 365 million dollars. A huge but profitable prize in revenue. Indeed, it grossed around $1.403 billion, more than triple the production budget.

Infinity War ranks second with its $316 million production budget. But this price is without counting the marketing cost of the film which is 150 million dollars.
