Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Implementation of a single user system for consumers who want to buy fuel oil (BBM) will begin to be implemented. Now, the number plates of vehicles filling fuel will be recorded.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said that this supervision was carried out to ensure that the distribution of gasoline, diesel and pertalite types, which had been subsidized by the government, could be right on target.
“Now we have started the surveillance system by highlighting the plate system so that it can be recorded,” said Arifin in an official statement, as quoted on Sunday (4/24/2022).
Arifin said that in conducting surveillance the government would optimize the use of digital technology such as CCTV. If there is a deviation, Pertamina will report this to law enforcement.
“Yesterday the police took a lot of action in the case of stockpiling and layout of the tank from 200 liters to 400 liters. It could also leak at gas stations, so we are trying to handle it,” said Arifin.
Arifin then talked about the stock of gasoline ahead of Eid. According to him, the need for a number of types of fuel such as Pertalite and Solar is expected to increase near the peak of the Idul Fitri holiday by up to 14 percent.
“We ask Pertamina to secure the tank [SPBU] as optimally as possible, preparation for the homecoming and return flow, especially diesel and pertalite fuel types. Later we will increase the stock,” he explained.
In addition, Arifin also appealed to the ranks of gas station officers to speed up the process of filling fuel and pay attention to the layout of the gas station. This is done to avoid unnecessary queues.
“We ask gas station officers to increase fuel filling to reduce long queues. There must be extra monkeys to speed up and take advantage of the layout for large vehicles,” said Arifin.
