Cantabria adds three deaths from Covid, increases the incidence of people over 60 and decreases income

SANTANDER, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Cantabria registered three deaths from coronavirus yesterday, Friday, in a day in which those hospitalized fell to 43 but infections and incidence in the population over 60 years of age continued to increase. The community is at risk level 1.

Specifically, in that age group of people over 60 – which is the only one that the Ministry of Health now offers data on infections and incidence – 173 cases were registered, 31 more than the day before.

And the 14-day incidence suddenly rose 33 points in one day, to 859 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and the 7-day incidence grew by 49 points, reaching 508.

On the positive side, those hospitalized have dropped from 48 to 43, 5 fewer than there were on Thursday, of which 3 are still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In Valdecilla, 26 patients are admitted, including three from the ICU, and there are thirteen in the Sierrallana Hospital in Torrelavega, two in the Comarcal de Laredo and another two in the Reinosa, according to the daily update of Health data.

In this way, hospital occupancy due to Covid has been reduced to 2.7%, remaining at risk level one, and the seven-day admission rate has grown three tenths of a percentage point to 17.5, at level two. And in the ICU they are at 1.4% and 0.3, respectively, at controlled risk.

With the new infections, the accumulated figure in the last week reaches 889 and 1,504 if the previous one is also taken into account.

On the other hand, the three new deaths registered yesterday bring the number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 832, 10 of them in the last week.
