Unless there is a huge surprise, AS Nancy-Lorraine will play National next season. To keep a tiny chance of staying in Ligue 2, the red lantern should not lose this Friday evening against QRM (Quevilly-Rouen Métropole), in a play-off position (note: with 10 points in advance) before this 35th day of championship. While the Normans were largely leading (3-0) after 39 minutes of play, the Nancy supporters threw projectiles on the lawn of Marcel-Picot, pushing the referee Rémi Landry to suspend and then stop the meeting.
The match was stopped for the first time after the first jets of smoke in the wake of the second goal of Quevilly-Rouen (17th), from the stand behind the Lorraine goal. Almost half an hour after the second interruption of the match and the return of the players to the locker rooms, the stadium announcer announced that the match was definitively stopped.

Since its creation in 1967, the ASNL had never progressed to the third level. The club experienced its golden age in the 1970s when, thanks to a goal from Michel Platini, the Lorraine region won the Coupe de France (1978) by beating Nice. A victory in the Coupe de la Ligue (2006) is the second most glorious line in the history of Nancy, who have also won the French Ligue 2 championship five times. ASNL was still playing in Ligue 1 in 2017.
Sochaux overtakes Paris FC
At the same time, Sochaux took a step in the opposite direction by beating Pau (1-0) thanks to Kalulu (14th). This victory allows the Sochaliens (64 points) to return to fourth place, just ahead of Paris FC (63 pts), which lost in Bastia (2-1). From the 7th minute, the Parisian club had received a first warning by conceding a goal, finally refused for a foul on their goalkeeper Vincent Demarconnay. It was only a postponement: Guidi, who arrived from a corner, gave the advantage to the Corsicans (14th), before doubling the lead just before half-time, taking advantage of a hand fault by the PFC goalkeeper.

This point taken, however, has no impact on the standings, since En Avant is seventh (49 pts) and Dijon thirteenth (43 pts).
Grenoble beat Le Havre (1-0) and now has an eight-point lead over the relegation zone. On Saturday, Auxerre (third, 64 pts) will travel to Caen (3 p.m.) in the hope of getting closer to Ajaccio. If AJA does not win, Toulouse will be able to formalize its rise to Ligue 1 in the event of a victory against Niort on Monday (8:45 p.m.)
