O Display industry analyst Ross Young is back with new information regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 4, indicating that the flexible display (inside) and the outside display will be wider than those of the predecessor.
In addition to the screen, Young also noted that Samsung has decided to change the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s hinge. In the new phone, Samsung has adopted a design in order to reduce the ‘crease’ in the flexible screen, something that has already been done by other companies on their own foldable phones.
The analyst had already said that Samsung intended to start production of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in July, commissioned double the units which it commissioned from its predecessors in 2021.
This large number of units at launch indicates that Samsung expects the phones to have even better sales, something that seems to be more likely with a more ‘inviting’ price.
Looks like the aspect ratio on both the cover & main displays may be wider. Hinge design rumored to have changed. Not sure if it is a water drop shaped which reduces the crease or not. Water and dust resistance also key for them which not yet available on water drop hinges.
