“When you see how intense the past few weeks have been, we played a really good game, defended very well and in a disciplined manner,” said Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche after the game. “We won a point,” summed up the 41-year-old aptly.

“We certainly allowed one or two chances, here Kevin Trapp held up outstandingly again,” Krösche then immediately named the best Frankfurt player on the pitch on Sunday.

Domenico Tedesco (36) was of a similar opinion; both in terms of the happy result for Frankfurt and in terms of the great performance of Keeper Trapp.

“I think we’re a bit more disappointed than our opponents, especially with 7-0 shots on goal. There were chances that we normally use,” said Leipzig’s coach and praised: “The Frankfurt goalkeeper did a good job, Kevin Trapp is a really good goalkeeper.”

In addition to a keeper in top form, aluminum twice and Martin Hinteregger (29) once, who cleared the line for his beaten goalkeeper, secured the guests’ point.

SBU coach Oliver (47) was satisfied with the point win in Leipzig. However, the Austrian complained that his own opportunities were not used.

“It was a very difficult game. You could tell that we had left a lot of strength in the past few weeks. We had a lot of intense games against big, strong teams,” said man of the game Kevin Trapp (31) himself. “In the end it’s 0-0 okay, especially since we finally didn’t concede a goal.”

“Leipzig offered us something, but we weren’t able to use it to our advantage. That’s why I’m satisfied with the point,” said SBU coach Oliver Glasner (47).

Towards the end of the game, the Hessians really came into play again and under certain circumstances could have taken more than just one point to the Main. However, Leipzig once again showed that the Adlerträger often find it difficult to consistently finish promising attacks.

“We implemented our plan well from the start and quickly played deep. We have to play our counterattacks more clearly in order to take the lead. A lot of things were unfortunate for us going forward,” analyzed winger Ansgar Knauff (20) aptly.

After the international break, Eintracht can do better. Then, on Saturday (April 2nd, 3.30 p.m.), the Frankfurt team welcome bottom-placed SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
