Eight Health Facilities in Depok City Provide Services for HIV/AIDS Patients

The Pancoran Mas, Cipayung, Cimanggis, and Tapos health centers serve HIV/AIDS treatment.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK — A total of eight health facilities (faskes) namely hospitals and health centers in Depok City provide HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment (PDP) services. Head of Depok City Health Service (Dinkes), Mary Liziawati said that until 2021 there were still four PDP services in Depok City.

Among them, Depok City Hospital, Sentra Medika Hospital, University of Indonesia Hospital (UI), and Hermina Hospital. “Along with the development of existing conditions, it is necessary to increase the number of PDP services for HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Especially at the Puskesmas service level,” said Mary in her statement in Depok City, West Java, Friday (23/4). /2022).

In this regard, continued Mary, there are four puskesmas that have been designated as PDP HIV/AIDS and PIMS services. This determination is in accordance with the Decree of the Head of the Health Office Number: 443.24/1336/P3M/2022 dated April 19, 2022. Additional health facilities are located in the UPTD of the Pancoran Mas Health Center, the UPTD of the Cipayung Health Center, the UPTD of the Cimanggis Health Center, and the UPTD of the Tapos Health Center.

Mary hopes that the addition of PDP HIV/AIDS and PIMS health facilities can break the chain of transmission of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections. Of course, through counseling, the selection of the right antiretroviral (ARV) drug therapy regimen for people living with HIV (PLHIV). With the expansion of services, he continued, it is hoped that all efforts to prevent and control HIV/AIDS and STIs will succeed in bringing goodness and prosperity to the community.
