Planet 55 Cancri e is located about 40 light years from Earth. This planet is outside the solar system and has a structure similar to Earth.
55 Cancri e belongs to the category of rocky planets like Earth. In addition to the same type, this one planet also has some similarities to Earth.
Surprisingly, 55 Cancri e is covered with millions of diamonds covering its surface.

Interesting Facts Planet 55 Cancri e
55 Cancri e is a planet outside the solar system. This planet was first identified in 2004.
Who would have thought, that this planet has some similarities with Earth.
This planet includes rocky or familiar with the term rocky planet. In addition, researchers have identified that 55 Cancri e has an atmosphere similar to that of Earth.
This fact was revealed through a study conducted by researchers from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). This planet is one of five planets orbiting a sun-like star, 55 Cancri A.
55 Cancri e has similarities to Earth but the radius is doubled. The mass of 55 Cancri e is also eight times larger, earning it the nickname super-Earth planet.

Can It Be a Substitute for Earth?
Planet 55 Cancri e does have some similarities with Earth, including its atmosphere. The planet’s atmosphere contains water, nitrogen, and even oxygen like Earth’s.
However, this does not make 55 Cancri e livable. This one planet is locked between gravity and its star so it doesn’t rotate like Earth.
One side of the planet will always face the parent star which makes it have a very high temperature. While the other side of the planet will always be a night without endless light.
The temperature on the day side of 55 Cranci e reaches 2,500 degrees Celsius, while on the night side the planet can reach 1,300-1,400 degrees Celsius. It was certainly too extreme for humans and other living things.

Mostly Consists of Diamonds
In this universe there are many important elements components. Each of these elements has a different form, depending on the temperature, chemical structure, and pressure.
An example is the element carbon which has various forms, including diamond. NASA explains that diamonds are made of carbon as a result of exposure to high pressure over a long period of time.
These diamonds are abundant in space and few on Earth.
A group of scientists from Yale University announced that 55 Cancri e may be covered by diamonds and not water or rock.
In 2020, the American Astronomical Society claimed that they had solved the mysteries of the planet.
According to Arizona State University researchers, 55 Cancri e are closed a diamond bound to a certain type of star, which also has a very high ratio of carbon to oxygen.
Silicon carbide will turn to silica diamond if it is under pressure from the greater 50GPA and a temperature higher than 2500 degrees Kelvin, as happened on planet 55 Cancri e. (R10/HR-Online)
