Video: Here Donald Trump insults the star moderator as a “fool” – and breaks off the interview – panorama

– A successful PR coup: British presenter Piers Morgan draws attention to his new show with an explosive excerpt from an interview with former US President Donald Trump.

Piers Morgan and Donald Trump actually have a friendly relationship. Morgan took part in the US show Celebrity Apprentice hosted by Trump in 2008 and won the competition.

Even before and during his presidency, Trump repeatedly received Morgan interviews – but the conversation between the two, which will be broadcast next Monday on Morgan’s new show “Piers Morgan Uncensored”, will probably have been the last of the two for the time being.

Morgan posted a video on Twitter Wednesday showing him interviewing the former US President. Accompanied by suspenseful music, the moderator engages in a war of words with the Republican – which ends in Trump breaking off the interview.

“Fool”

The reason for Trump’s freak was the interviewer’s questions and statements about the alleged election fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Morgan said to Trump that the 2020 election was “a free and fair election” – and Trump would have lost.

The 45th President grew increasingly frustrated with Morgan’s questions and at one point called him a “fool,” excerpts of the conversation reveal. “With all due respect, you have presented no solid evidence,” Morgan said of Trump’s claims that the election was rigged.

“I don’t think you’re being honest,” the former president told Morgan, later speaking to the production team and calling his interviewer “very dishonest.” The preview ended with Trump rising from his seat and ordering the production team to “turn off the camera.”

“Then you are a fool! And you have not learned”

In a Thursday column for The Post Morgan described the experience with Trump. He revealed he also told the former president that he blamed his refusal to concede defeat for the deadly riot in the Capitol on January 6, 2021. “Then you’re a fool! And you haven’t learned,” Trump is said to have replied, according to Morgan.

Morgan also said that in the interview, Trump called him a fool six more times, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) “stupid” and his own Vice President Mike Pence “stupid and weak” described. The full conversation between the two men will be broadcast next Monday.
