From young to old, old and new generation, there is no one who does not know who Queen Elizabeth II is. The current monarch of Great Britain writes the history of his kingdom in different ways: with his achievements or with Guinness World Records.
Even now, just 96 years ago, she continues to bring color to the gray of today’s world and illuminate it with her kind smile. The years do not stop her from fulfilling her duty as a queen, nor from having fun.
When it comes to queens or any aristocratic person, it is difficult to look at them differently from the dignified person in power. They instill respect, esteem and their word is the law. Etiquette in their families is as strict as their clothing, and each line is as strictly selected and rehearsed. So is the royal family of Great Britain. So is Queen Elizabeth II, but beneath the many titles and diamonds lies … man. An ordinary person. Such as all of us who laugh, who cry, who make mistakes and who correct them.
Her Majesty is known as much for the serious stages of her biography as for the moments when the crown mask falls. Not a few people have told and not a few newspapers have written about her sense of humor and some of the many fun situations she has been in. Even Karen Dolby is writing a book in which she has collected some of them – “The Wicked Wit”.
The ones we will introduce (or remind you of) are stories from the cases when even the colorful and noticeable queen from miles away prefers to merge with the crowd:

Meeting with American tourists in Scotland
Richard Griffin, the Queen’s bodyguard, recounts a hilarious incident when he and Elizabeth II were walking near Balmoral Castle. Then she wore a dark and unattractive coat and a scarf around her head. A vision that reminds us of our own dear grandmothers.
They stumbled upon a group of American tourists whose curiosity caught Her Majesty’s attention. She was asked the simplest question: “Have you ever met the queen?”. And her answer was simple: “No”, then she pointed to Griffin and said, “But he did.”
Quickly to the nearby shop
The other story is told by the artist Juliet Panet. While painting the portrait of the monarch, she told her an interesting short story when she went to the store.
Yes, queens can go to the neighborhood store alone.
She was at the Sandringham manor that day. They were enjoying a cup of hot tea when their cake was over. Elizabeth II calmly decided to go down to the nearby store alone to buy.
When she got out of there, she came across another elderly woman who exclaimed, “Heavens, you look just like the queen!” This did not frighten or bother her. On the contrary. She replied, “How soothing,” and continued on her way.

Among the many lines of her biography there is a lot of color. She was born on April 21, 1926, in a small town house in London, which belonged to her maternal grandparents. In 1945 he joined the army, where one of the first things he learned was to drive (it became a hobby later). This makes her the first female member of the royal family to join the army as a full member.
In 1953 she was crowned queen, and almost the entire ceremony was televised. Something that happens for the first time in history.
After the two world wars, the monarchies disintegrated, the colonies became independent, but the queen was determined to keep all her territories intact. She travels the world, visiting all her colonies, which makes people love her even more, earning her the title of “head of the community”. Her travels are the most of any of the heads of state in the world.
Another thing she is first in is the decision to send her children to boarding schools to protect them from the media. In fact, he prefers to keep his private life a secret and show only what he wants to be seen. A characteristic human trait in which many people recognize themselves.
He acquires so much knowledge about the world that he easily confuses the men in the room. Churchill himself is impressed by them and her wit. And her sense of humor? It is even more colorful.

Queen Elizabeth II adds another year to her life. She has been named Britain’s longest-serving monarch since 2015, and if she continues for two more years, she will surpass the record of Louis XIV of France as the longest-serving monarch in European and Canadian history.
But let’s remember again that under all this she is still an ordinary person with a family, feelings and memories. A man full of color and stories. As Prince Harry says of his family:
“They have a lot of fun together. My family is the same as everyone else when it comes to humor behind closed doors“.
