Yesterday, Wednesday afternoon (20th), in the middle of the rush hour, a 17-year-old from Frankfurt caused considerable delays in the S-Bahn traffic.
The young person was subjected to a ticket inspection by employees of Deutsche Bahn in an S-Bahn. When he stopped at Frankfurt Central Station, the 17-year-old fled directly from the train into the tunnel system there.
All S-Bahn tracks were then closed and officers from the Frankfurt Federal Police Inspectorate searched the area. Only when it could be ruled out that the 17-year-old was no longer in the area of the tracks were the tracks released again after a 30-minute blockage.
As a result of the incident, a total of 56 S-Bahn trains were delayed and operations were severely disrupted.
According to initial investigations, the 17-year-old handed over an electronic ticket, which is not issued in his name, and his vaccination card when he was checked in the S-Bahn. Asked about this by Deutsche Bahn employees and possibly out of fear of the impending reprisals, the young person fled.
The 17-year-old from Frankfurt is now being investigated on suspicion of fraud. In addition, an administrative offense report was initiated because of a disruption to operations.
The federal police point out that staying on the tracks is life-threatening.
