Microsoft: Now Twice a Year Cumulative Update for Exchange Server – Tablets and Phones – News

And what proponents of the cloud fail to realize is that no one guarantees that your data will remain on the EU servers. Some letters on a sheet of paper? Or some bits in a PDF?

As others have pointed out, Microsoft has a lot of hardware in a lot of data centers. Very powerful hardware even. Hardware that easily runs a backup of your data without you noticing a single iota. Your data may then remain on the EU server, which backup will go to the US in an instant, if Microsoft deems it necessary.

A sheet of paper with some text on it doesn’t amount to much as a leash when Microsoft starts pulling on that lead like a mad dog.

That there are enough companies that do not want to take this risk with their data, or are not even allowed to take this risk with their data, if they contractually manage data from other companies, is that immediately old-fashioned / job retention?

Or grow up and/or wake up. Cloud is useful for a lot of things for a lot of things, I’m not denying that at all. But the cloud is far from proven. That is, the software and hardware that makes the cloud possible, that’s fine. The people who operate the buttons of the hardware and software have a different agenda. It will probably happen to a very large extent with your agenda. But 100%? Do not make me laugh.

And no, your cloud management interface does not have the capabilities that the management interface of the data center administrators has. You therefore do not have a complete overview or complete control, if you have that illusion.
