Nine people have suffered severe poisoning symptoms in the thermal baths of Spa in Belgium after acid accidentally got into the chlorine tank. This created toxic fumes.
The victims were taken to hospital, where they were given oxygen. They are not in mortal danger. 36 others with less severe symptoms could be helped on the spot by ambulance personnel.
The spa has been evacuated by the police. Visitors and staff of the thermal baths are accommodated in a hotel nearby.
