Microsoft to remove SMBv1 from Windows 11 – Computer – News

That must be a very old NAS. SMBv2 was introduced in 2006 with the introduction of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. SMBv3 has been around since 2012, with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

Then you should have a 16+ year old NAS, which has never had an update (including SMBv2 support).

And even then you can always go for 3rd party implementations of SMBv1 like LikeWise, Tuxera, NQ or CIFSD.

Sometimes you have to seriously consider whether you want that kind of (in IT terms) antique equipment in your network. Even if that is an internal LAN. You run serious security risks, and not just through SMBv1.
