Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – After a break of several days, climate activists of the “last generation” continued their protests on Wednesday. Two demonstrators stuck themselves to the roadway at the former Kaiserlei roundabout on the city limits between Offenbach and Frankfurt. “We have to stop the fossil madness,” said one of the activists of the German Press Agency. Police slowly guided traffic between the protesters. There should also be protests in other places.

In the past week there had been protest actions in Frankfurt for four days in a row. Traffic junctions had been blocked, activists had glued themselves to the streets. In addition, an oily liquid was poured onto the roadway of two Main bridges in Frankfurt, which according to the police caused four cyclists to fall. Almost 200 people were arrested. 30 people had to remain in custody over Easter. Among other things, the group is calling for the expansion and financing of fossil infrastructure projects to be stopped.
