Relatives of María del Carmen Calderón Cala complete a month without hearing from her. The last thing they knew was that the woman, whom they described as a shepherdess, had an appointment in Ibagué with some Ecuadorians.
Yilary Calderón, one of the lady’s daughters, said that at the beginning of March her mother left Bogotá (where she lives) for Ibagué and then for Neiva.
“A friend of hers who lives in Ibagué told us that my mother was there from March 8 to 13. They met, then my mother traveled to Neiva and the person she visited in Neiva assures that she told him that she would return to Ibagué to meet with some Ecuadorians, ”said the relative.
Yilary, who lives in Bucaramanga, added that the last time she spoke with her mother, through a video call, was on March 21.
“On March 25, a friend of ours commented a WhatsApp status to my mother and she replied: so cute, I adore you. When the friend answered her again, that day at 9:17 at night, her message did not reach her. Since that day the cell phone goes to the mailbox, ”said the young woman.
According to the family, sometimes María del Carmen participated during days of spiritual retreats, however, she always warned them.
“At first we thought he was on a spiritual retreat or that he had gone to Ecuador, but that so much time has passed and he has not told us is no longer normal. We are desperate,” they said.
