Adresseavisen wrote on Sunday that a woman alerted the police about a man who showed threatening behavior. According to the reporter, the man grabbed her child’s hands, lifted them up and tried to threaten her husband to get him a car.
The caller said that she repeatedly experienced that the man tried to threaten the car.
When the police arrived at the scene, the man is said to have behaved aggressively and thrown large stones at the police patrols. It triggered an armed action.
The man was arrested on the spot on Sunday. On Monday, the person in question was questioned and the charges against him expanded, writes Adresseavisen.
– The situation escalated on the spot and led to several criminal incidents. We consider it serious – especially when young children are involved, says police lawyer Marte Myre Linberg the newspaper.
The man has been reported for “frightening, troublesome and ruthless behavior” and “violence against a public servant”. On Sunday, the charge was extended to also include “damages”.
The accused was released from custody on Monday because there was no basis for further custody, Myre Linberg states. The motive for the incident is not known.
TV 2 has contacted the Trøndelag police district, who said that they did not have the opportunity to be interviewed on Monday.
