One person injured
– A person has been evacuated and is being cared for. His condition is unknown, says Magne Brunes, duty commander at the 110 exchange in Nordland to VG.
As far as VG understands, he must have jumped from the 2nd floor and was transported by air ambulance to hospital.
At a quarter past one, the police emphasize that no one else should be missing.
– A tragedy
Kirkeverge in Bø, Rune Eriksen is a witness to the fire in the almost hundred-year-old building which is now completely overheated.
– It is absolutely terrible, a tragedy, he says
He is not worried that Bø church from 1824 will be damaged, because it is windless in the area.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. The fire service also states that there is no danger of it spreading, but that they are working to limit the damage and secure nearby buildings.
