London –
Chelsea advance to the final FA Cup after getting rid of Crystal Palace. Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount determined to break the trend of losing in the final.
Chelsea face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semifinal at Wembley Stadium, Sunday (17/4/2022) night WIB. They had difficulty dismantling Palace and closed the first half with the score 0-0.
Chelsea in the end won 2-0 over Crystal Palace. Goals scored The Blues created by Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount in the second half.
“It was a very tough game. Palace made it difficult for us and it wasn’t easy,” Mason Mount told ITV Sport.
“It took us a long time to dismantle them. As soon as we scored they opened up. I was very impressed with the way they played.”
This is the third successive final for Chelsea in the FA Cup. In the final in the last two seasons, Chelsea had to settle for being runners-up after consecutive defeats by Arsenal and Leicester City.
The Chelsea vs Liverpool match is also a repeat of the English League Cup final this season. At that time, Chelsea lost on penalties.
The FA Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool will be played at Wembley Stadium on 14 May. Mason Mount doesn’t want to be heartbroken again at Wembley.
“No doubt it’s time for us to win the final at Wembley. I’ve lost five finals. Now it’s time for revenge (against Liverpool),” said Mason Mount.
