How to see Paris-Roubaix on TV – The statements of Filippo Ganna
Hello friends of OA Sport and welcome to LIVE LIVE of the 119th edition of Paris-Roubaixone of the five classic monuments, a one-of-a-kind race.
Cycling does not stop even on Easter day and offers us a race of extraordinary charm. 257 kilometers from Compiegne a Roubaix: 54 kilometers of cobblestones divided into 30 sectors. The first stretch of paving will be 96 kilometers from the start in Troivilles. The runners will tackle 11 sectors in quick succession up to the famous one Gap of Arenberg, the first of the three sectors with five stars. At the exit from the forest, then, for the athletes there will be about 50 kilometers without almost a moment of respite, along which eight sections of pavé will be faced, none of which are less than three stars of difficulty. Especially there will be Mons-en-Pevele, the second sector with five stars of difficulty and another key point of the race, given that there will be 47 kilometers to go. Just 15,000 meters from the finish will be the legendary Crossroads of the Tree, the third and last of the sections with five stars of difficulty. Along these 2100 meters, rather treacherous in the initial phase due to the presence of some curves, the race has often been decided in recent years; whoever has more will be able to try to attack and detach the opponents to fly towards the final finish line of the Roubaix velodrome.
The outgoing winner will be missing, ours Sonny Colbrelli, away from racing after the cardiac arrest that hit him at the Tour of Catalonia. There won’t be either Gianni Moscon, fourth last year after an extraordinary number and far from his condition of ideal form. Instead, there will be the Tricolore Filippo Gannawinner of this race among the under 23, but unknown on the pavé as a professional.
