There are twenty deaths in El Paso due to traffic accidents so far this year – El Heraldo de Juárez

This past Sunday, April 10, Special Traffic Investigators from the El Paso Police Department responded to I-10 Eastbound in Hawkins to investigate a fatal collision.

In the first report, it was reported that the crash involved a Corvette vehicle and the same Tahoe that were traveling east on I-10.

It was at this point that the driver of the Corvette lost control and hit the center median and came to a stop. Meanwhile, the driver of the Tahoe then struck the rear of a 2004 Pontiac Vide, where his driver lost control and went on to hit a concrete barrier and burst into flames.

The driver of the Pontiac died from injuries caused by the fire, becoming the 20th fatality due to the vehicular accident.

And although those involved in the accident had fled after causing the fatal accident, the El Paso Police Department reported that after an investigation, the driver of the Corvette and Tahoe was arrested.

According to the authority’s report, 24-year-old Saúl Miguel was arrested, who was the driver of the 2020 Corvette, who was consigned to the El Paso Detention Center under the charge of Involuntary Homicide, to which they assigned 750 thousand dollars of bail, as well as an accident with death, leaving a bail of 850 thousand dollars.

The person in the second 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Kayla Núñez, who was also assigned the same crimes and the same bail as the first driver, also consigned to the Detention Center pending trial.
