US President Joe Biden is not expected to visit Ukraine. This was stated by White House spokeswoman Jen Saki against the background of comments that high-ranking American officials will visit the country after leaders from Western countries did so, BNR reported.
In an interview with the Pod Save America podcast, Saki said Biden was ready to face various challenges, including going to Ukraine, but “we will not send the president to Ukraine.” Earlier, Biden himself said that the decision to send a high-ranking official from Ukraine to his administration is still being considered.
The US president was near the Ukrainian border in March when he visited Poland. He said at the time that he was disappointed that he had failed to enter the country and learn about the aftermath of the Russian invasion.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price, meanwhile, said there were no concrete plans yet for US diplomats to return to Ukraine amid news that France was returning its ambassador to Kyiv. Due to the Russian invasion, American diplomats were moved to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv and later to Poland.
