FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that during his 7 years of leadership, the government had built 1,900 kilometers of toll roads.
Jokowi said that so far, Indonesia has only been able to build 780 kilometers of toll roads in a period of 40 years.
In response, the former secretary of the Ministry of SOEs, Said Didu criticized the statement.
Said Didu brought up the state road which is used by the public for free. Didu said that as long as Jokowi is in charge, only 592 kilometers of state roads can be built or only 98 kilometers per year.
Meanwhile, the previous President was able to build 11,812 kilometers of free state roads.
“Dear Mr President, let the information be balanced: The previous President built free state roads for 10 years, 11,812 km or 1,181 km/year. The state road construction phase for 6 years is only 592 km or only 98 km / year,” said Said Didu via his Twitter, Friday 15 April 2022.
Said Didu also brought up the construction of toll roads in the Jokowi era, which made SOEs in debt and at a loss.
“SOEs are now in debt because they built PAID toll roads that are losing money. I hope it’s clear,” he said.
Previously, President Jokowi said that during his 7 years of leadership, he had built 1,900 km of toll roads.
Jokowi said that for 40 years, Indonesia could only build 780 km of toll roads.
“For 40 years, Indonesia has only been able to build 780 km of toll roads. So, starting in 2014, the government has pushed for the acceleration of the construction of toll roads in Trans-Java, Trans-Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.” Jokowi said. (fin/dawn)
