Winston on criticism of charity platform: ‘Misplaced and hurts’

“This storm of criticism has completely overwhelmed me,” Winston begins. The presenter explains that he wants to accelerate the protection of the earth with ‘a group of entrepreneurs’. ‘We consciously do this in a company form, because we believe that we can only protect nature on a large scale with an entrepreneurial approach,’ he continues. “The suggestion made by certain people that I’m doing this to make money off the back of charity is untrue.”

Winston also explains how this works in the Instagram post. “For me personally, I have indicated from the start that I will not earn anything from this,” he explains. “The suggestion now being made that this is done purely for financial gain is therefore completely misplaced and hurts,” he adds.

‘We have been transparent from day one,’ says Winston. The presenter has ‘learned’ from the criticism and article by Quote† According to him, ‘everything is clearly explained’ on the charity’s site, but that the ‘entrepreneurial side’ must be highlighted even more clearly and proactively.
