Darwin Nunez confirmed his commitment to Benfica after showing his potential in the Champions League quarter-finals against Liverpool.
The 22-year-old scored in both legs despite Benfica’s exit 6-4 on aggregate. On leg second at Anfield, Thursday (14/4) early morning WIB, he netted three times but two of them were declared off-side.

With the addition of these two goals, Darwin has now recorded 32 goals in 37 matches across competitions this season. It was a significant jump after 14 goals in 44 games last season, when Benfica failed to qualify for the Champions League.
After leg First, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called Darwin “a very good young man with a big career ahead.”
“Benfica are a great team who gave me a lot of experience. It’s difficult to play here [di Anfield]not just anyone comes here to do what we do,” Nunez said post-match to CNN Portugal.
“We congratulate Liverpool and we will go home with our heads held high, we have given everything.”
