The MusicAntigua Studio, a stable ensemble of the UC Music Institute, offers a concert this afternoon at the San Francisco Museum (Alameda 834). The session will be at 7:00 p.m. today, with free registration on the social networks of the San Francisco Museum. An ensemble of students from the UC Institute of Music will offer the “Pianto della Madonna” program, which includes the Stabat Mater by Vivaldi and a repertoire from the beginning of the 17th century that represents the pain of Mary at the feet of her crucified son.
The objective is to publicize the research and musical creation work carried out by this group of academics in the field of historically informed interpretation, and with period instruments. Later, composers such as Robert de Visée, Jacob van Eyck, Georg Friedrich Haendel, Georg Philipp Telemann, Alessandro Scarlatti and Lodovico Grossi da Viadana will be addressed.
