Switzerland has adopted the same sanctions as the European Union. And Putin’s daughters

Neutral Switzerland has approved sanctions against another 200 individuals and entities, including two daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Swiss sanctions list now fully reflects the one adopted by the EU,” the government said.

An unnamed U.S. official previously said there were indications that Putin’s daughters had property in the West.

“We believe that many of Putin’s assets are hidden with family members, so we are targeting them,” a Washington Post reporter was quoted as saying.

According to some sources, Putina’s partner, former gymnast Alina Kabajevová and their four children also live in Switzerland. There has even been a petition asking the country to deport the woman and the children.

However, the sanctions concern two adult daughters of Putin, Ekaterina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, whom he has with his ex-wife Ludmila Skrebnevova. They are now 35 and 36 years old.

Switzerland said last week that it had so far frozen the assets of sanctioned Russians in the amount of 7.5 billion Swiss francs (over 181 billion crowns).

EU sanctions are also being applied by Liechtenstein, which said last week that it had frozen around 260 million Swiss francs linked to Russia.
