A huge tragedy happened a while ago on the sub-Balkan road near Sopot. A 55-year-old woman with a small child in her arms and a dog she led on a leash was swept away by a Skoda car.
He was a 72-year-old driver behind the wheel. The incident happened at the exit of the town of Sopot and in the direction of the village of Iganovo.
The woman with the child started to cross, stopped at the centerline and left again. At that moment she was hit by the car, by the impact, the child, who is under 2 years old, jumped out of her arms and died. The woman was taken to hospital. Karlovo police officers begin an inspection.
The reasons for the accident will be clarified, and it is not clear whether the driver used alcohol. The road will be open in one direction only.
