At the quarry above Belashtitsa, a training exercise is being held on the components of the Unified Rescue System for action in the event of a traffic accident caused by the landslide of a large amount of rock mass on the roadway. The exercise involves forces of the Ministry of Interior from the directorates of Fire Safety and Protection of the Population and the police, teams of Emergency Medical Aid at the Ministry of Health and the Regional Road Administration from RIA to the Ministry of Transport, a reporter told Plovdiv24.bg from the scene.
Here is what Senior Commissioner Krassimir Shoterov, Director of the Operational Activities Directorate at DG PBZN, said:
“Today we are conducting one of the planned for the year classes of the unified rescue system. Colleagues from all over the country are participating, for whom it is a kind of training, to increase knowledge and training.
The situation is close to reality and has unfortunately happened: there is a collapse of rocks on the road Plovdiv – Smolyan, two cars are trapped, in one there are materials of unknown nature, in the other – people. Several situations will be played out – climbers knock down the stones, put on a safety net, provide medical assistance to a woman in labor traveling from Smolyan and transport her to Plovdiv.
Accidents are a scourge for our public and there are many people injured and killed on the roads. As a result of such trainings, the material security will be increased and the number of victims of traffic accidents will be reduced. ”
