Modern women who are no longer satisfied with their bodies … This is what the heart-rending film “Beautiful” by director Caroline Herfurth tells about. Emotional and at the same time funny is “Wonderful”, which CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark is showing in its Film-Café on Thursday, April 14th. It starts at 3 p.m. with delicious specialties from the cake and torte manufacturer “Tortenglück” from Westheim. The cinema team also serves aromatic coffee. The film starts at 4 p.m.
“Beautiful” – a film close to life, honest and hopeful. After “SMS für Dich” and “Sweethearts”, author, director and leading actress Karoline Herfurth proves again with “Wonderful” that she can conquer the hearts of the audience both in front of and behind the camera. Her strong ensemble includes new discovery Dilara Aylin Ziem, Emilia Schüle (“High Society”, “Hello Again – A Day Forever”), Nora Tschirner (“Embrace – You’re Beautiful”) and Martina Gedeck (“I’ll be gone then “, “The wall”). Together with Karoline Herfurth (“The Perfect Secret”, “SMS für Dich”) you put being a woman to the test. The male roles are played by Friedrich Mücke (“SMS for you”, “Ballon”), Maximilian Brückner (“The most beautiful couple”) and Joachim Król (“Berlin Alexanderplatz”).

Almost all of us know how to emulate an ideal image. Mothers, daughters, men, old and young are stuck in a permanent optimization mania. “Wonderful” tells their stories: There is Frauke (Martina Gedeck), who “just before 60” no longer finds herself desirable, while her retired husband Wolfi (Joachim Król) doesn’t know what to do with himself without a job. Her daughter Julie (Emilia Schüle) finally wants to make a breakthrough as a model and tries doggedly to fit her body into the beauty ideal of the industry. This in turn haunts student Leyla (Dilara Aylin Ziem), who is convinced that she can lead a better life with Julie’s looks and finds no connection to herself. Julie’s sister-in-law Sonja (Karoline Herfurth) is also struggling with her body, which after two pregnancies becomes an expression of a life crisis. Her husband Milan (Friedrich Mücke) does not realize the pressure she puts on herself as a young mother. This is not a big surprise for Sonja’s best friend Vicky (Nora Tschirner), as she is convinced that women and men will not and never meet on an equal footing, at least not in love. However, her new colleague Franz (Maximilian Brückner) would like to convince her otherwise.
