Two Less Familiar Early Symptoms of Omicron

Experts identified two less familiar early Omicron symptoms.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Omicron is still the dominant Covid-19 variant after Delta. Now, experts have identified two less familiar early symptoms of the Omicron variant: fatigue and dizziness or fainting.

Fatigue is not just feeling tired. These include body aches, sore and weak muscles, headaches, blurred vision, maybe even loss of appetite.

A Web MD poll between December 23 and January 4 found that 40 percent of women reported that they struggled with fatigue. It also affects a third of men.

According to a new report as reported by the Mirror, Tuesday (12/4/2022), the Omicron variant can also trigger fainting. The report, which came from doctors in Berlin, saw a 35-year-old patient fainting repeatedly.

Along with lesser-known symptoms, a new study has identified eight of Omicron’s main symptoms: cough, runny nose, fatigue, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, fever, and sneezing.

This symptom was obtained from the results of a study by Norwegian researchers on 111 people who attended a party in November 2021 and contracted Covid-19. From that group, 66 people tested positive for Covid-19, and 15 more people may have contracted Covid-19.

In the group of 111 people, 89 percent had received two doses of the mRNA vaccine, while none had received a booster injection.

Sneezing and fever are the least common symptoms in those who have been fully vaccinated. Nausea has also been added to the list of symptoms for the Omicron variant.
