DONETSK – While the Kiev authorities denounce the allegedly imminent Russian offensive on a large scale to conquer all of Donbass, Donetsk is experiencing an atmosphere of apparent tranquility. Unlike in the rest of Ukraine, war is the everyday life that has accompanied the lives of citizens for over eight years. The Ukrainian army is present in some northern districts of the urban area, adjacent to the airport, and in the surrounding villages.
