Qualcomm has provided an updated version of all flagship tiles in recent years, offering generally higher clock speeds and increased performance. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will be no exception, in fact, according to the latest information, we will be able to come across the first smartphone with such a construction inside this summer.
The source of the news is an unnamed supplier who knows that the first premium smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset will debut in June or July at the latest.
The first mobiles with this chipset will be released in the Chinese market, but we have not received any information about which manufacturers will have these devices. According to some a OnePlus 10 Ultra is honored to be powered by Qualcomm’s next star tile, but the Dimensity 9000 or the current 8 Gen 1 chip has at least as much chance of serving on this mobile.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s 4-nanometer manufacturing process and will be very similar to the current Snapdragon peak processor overall. The tile may receive elevated clock speeds and perhaps additional enhancements that will remedy the current one warming and throttling problems. The new chipset is reportedly unveiled sometime in May by Qualcomm staff.
