NASA has postponed the test of its newest rocket, the Artemis 1 Moon. This is due to a problem with the helium check valve, which is designed to prevent gas from escaping the Space Launch System (SLS). The helium function is to clean fuel lines prior to loading and unloading propellant, and valve problems affect gas pressure maintenance with the SLS mobile launch platform. The tests were designed to follow a countdown procedure and for the most part went according to plan, until NASA ran into problems with the SLS mobile launch platform.
The launch was originally scheduled for April 1 at Pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida and should have been completed in approximately 48 hours. However, due to some technical problems, the process was stopped.
