“She’s beautiful,” the doctor gushed about Emily Ratajkowski after she was born. “You were such a beautiful baby,” says mother Kathleen Balgley in retrospect. It is already clear in the first chapter of her book “My Body”: London-born American Emily Ratajkowski grows up with the certainty that she looks good: “For me, beauty was a way of being something special.” What could be more obvious than becoming a model? At 14, Ratajkowski was signed to Ford Models, and after graduating from high school, she spent a year studying art at the University of California, Los Angeles.
