SURYAKEPRI.COM – Israeli research results show that the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can increase antibodies five times a week after the dose is given, especially in the elderly.

The results of this study were also explained directly by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet at Sheba Medical Center.

“A week after the fourth dose, we know with a higher degree of certainty that the fourth dose is safe. We also know that a week after the fourth dose we see a fivefold increase in the number of antibodies in the vaccinated people,” he explained at a press conference.

Quoted from the Time of Israel, the study also compared people over the age of 60 who received the fourth dose with those who received only three doses of the vaccine. According to the study, the group that received three doses of the vaccine had up to 3.5 times higher rates of disease with severe symptoms after four weeks.

In addition, the rate of confirmed COVID-19 infection after receiving the fourth dose was much lower.

According to Alroy-Preis, head of public health services at Israel’s Ministry of Health, Israel will now coexist with COVID-19.

“We are moving in that direction (normalization) through various steps. Children at school no longer need to be quarantined. Same with people who will return from abroad,” he said.

Meanwhile, the administration of this fourth dose has been carried out since January 2022 for all Israeli citizens aged 60 years and over, health workers, and people with autoimmune diseases.
