Demonstrations against the discourse of extending the presidential term to 3 terms ended in chaos. Demo 11 April tear gas was showered in front of the DPR building.
Initially, demonstration 11 April 2022 running smoothly. The masses held a long march to the front of the DPR Building in Senayan. However, the demonstration suddenly became chaotic because of the beatings.

1. Participants are beaten
A protester wearing an alma mater and a helmet was seen being beaten by a man with a mustache. Detik.com’s monitoring on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, at 15.30 WIB, Monday (11/4/2022), the masses were seen pushing and throwing bottles of mineral water.
Suddenly, a man in a blue shirt hit a protester who was wearing an alma mater. The man who hit the protest participant was later seen being arrested by another protest participant.
The man then took off his mask. There was a crowd shouting at the man. The crowd then shouted ‘beware of provocation’.
After that, the beating of the mass action again occurred. A man in a black jacket and shorts was seen hitting a protester.
This demo itself was coordinated by BEM SI. The masses expressed their rejection of the 3 term presidential issue.
2. Police fire tear gas
The mass demonstration of students in front of the DPR RI, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, ended in chaos. Police fired tear gas up to water cannons to push back the crowd.
Monitoring detik.com At the location, Monday (11/4/2022), at 15.34 WIB, the crowd threw stones at the police using bottled mineral water. The police who were pelted were still trying to set up barricades.
In addition to using mineral water bottles, the April 11 demonstration mass pelted the police using bamboo. The police who made the barricades then moved into the area of the MPR/DPR building.
From inside the area of the MPR/DPR building, the police fired tear gas at the April 11 protest mass. The masses of the action ran and scattered towards Jalan Pintu Pemuda.
