The benefit concert by Teodor Currentzis with his orchestra musicAeterna planned for Tuesday evening was canceled on Monday afternoon. As the Vienna Konzerthaus announced in a broadcast, this “respects” the wish of the Ukrainian ambassador in Austria “to refrain from involving Russian artists in benefit concerts for the benefit of Ukraine”. Currentzis’ orchestra consists of musicians of various nationalities. The proceeds of the concert should have benefited humanitarian aid for people in Ukraine and those fleeing.
