The Minister noted that information on several objects has not yet been obtained, as they are located in the territories occupied by the Russian troops.
Tkachenko stressed that we should talk about reparations and reconstruction by the aggressor state.
At the same time, he announced that the ministry is currently negotiating with Western partners to establish a joint fund for the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
Tkachenko stressed that this is an important issue, because the first thing that Russian President Vladimir Putin is fighting, not to mention the people, is the culture and history of Ukraine.
He explained that it was therefore important to strengthen our understanding of what culture and cultural heritage mean for Ukraine and Ukrainians, and to promote this understanding in the world alongside sanctions against Russia and the severance of ties with the Russian cultural sector supported by Moscow.
“So far, more than 100 institutions around the world have given up such cooperation. At the same time, it is important for us to promote our own. That is why we are very active in supporting all private initiatives,” the minister said.
Tkachenko stressed that Ukraine does not live only from sanctions, but it is also important to take the opportunity and talk and promote its heritage, composers, artists and everything related to Ukrainian culture.
