Extra league box! Pardubice will strengthen two big fish, Třinec will lose its defensive pillars

Already last year, Pardubice brought big names and promised an attack on the medal they have been waiting for since winning the championship title in 2012. However, the arrivals of Košťálek, A. Musil, Ciencialy or Říčka were not enough for better than the final sixth place.

Now Dynamo will pull out even louder reinforcements. According to Sport.cz, Pardubice has agreed on the arrivals of the bronze owner from this year’s Olympic Games, the 29-year-old Slovak Peter Čerešňák and the equally old Czech national team defender David Musil.

A native of Trenčín, Čerešňák helped Slovaks to historical bronze in Beijing with five assists and thus became the most productive backbone of the tournament. He has been a participant in two World Championships and two Olympic Games in the Czech extra league since 2014. He first spent two seasons in Vítkovice, and for the last six years he has been in Pilsen.

David Musil is currently attacking with Třinec, where he has been working for the fifth year, to win the championship extra-league hat-trick. But no matter what the final against Sparta or České Budějovice turns out to be, a native of Calgary who has played at the last two world championships will no longer work for the Steelworks. In Pardubice, he will meet his four-year-younger brother, forward Adam.

However, the departure of David Musil will not be the only blow in the defensive ranks for Třinec. Zdeněk Moták, Václav Varadi’s successor at the substitution, will not have another representative and Musil’s partner from the second defensive formation, Tomáš Kundrátek. The 32-year-old native of Přerov ends up in Třinec after three years, he has agreed on a contract with the Brno Kometa.

Of course, steelmakers are also working on reinforcements. According to Sport.cz, one of them should be the 26-year-old center Daniel Voženílek, who scored four goals in the jersey of České Budějovice in seven matches of the ongoing playoffs.
