The explosion of three sewers caused panic this Sunday in Times Square and caused the crowd to run in the uncertainty of not knowing what had caused the loud noise.
The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) confirmed that three sewers burst into flames and that they are verifying that there are no elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the areas.
The explosions occurred near Times Square and so far no injuries have been reported.
Videos shared on social media show crowds running through the streets of Times Square.
